 
Santhosshi Narayanan, MD, FACP - USA
Dr. Santhosshi Narayanan is a Clinical Associate Professor of Integrative Medicine Center at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she is dedicated to advancing the field of Integrative Oncology. She serves as a board member of the Society of Integrative Oncology (SIO), co-chairs the SIO Global Committee, and founded the Ayurveda Special Interest Group. Dr. Narayanan has also been a board member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), reflecting her leadership in both the medical and integrative oncology communities.
In 2015, Dr. Narayanan co-founded and served as the associate director of the MD Anderson Onco-hospitalist fellowship program, which focused on providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care in oncology. In 2018, she transitioned to the Integrative Medicine Center, where she works to incorporate diet, exercise, mind-body practices, and integrative therapies into cancer treatment plans.
A co-author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, Dr. Narayanan has made significant contributions to the expanding field of Integrative Oncology. She conducted one of the first clinical trials on meditation in hospitalized cancer patients and has published work on the use of medicinal mushrooms in cancer care. Her research has been presented at both national and international conferences, advancing scientific understanding of integrative approaches in oncology. Her clinical and research expertise have positioned her as a leader in the field, and she remains committed to integrating these therapies into standard cancer care to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Narayanan has received several prestigious awards, including the Award for Excellence in Professionalism at MD Anderson, the Best Teaching Faculty Award for mentoring the inaugural class of internal medicine residents at UT Tyler, and Leadership Awards from both the ACP and SIO, recognizing her excellence in education and leadership in Integrative Oncology and internal medicine.
Originally from India, Dr. Narayanan completed her medical education and training at Michigan State University and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Her research training was through Harvard Medical School Global Programs, and she has completed leadership training through several prestigious programs, including the Texas Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the MD Anderson Leadership College. She is fellowship-trained in Integrative Medicine and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Ayurveda.
Dr. Narayanan’s work bridges the gap between conventional cancer treatment and integrative therapies, with the goal of improving the quality of life and overall well-being of cancer patients.
