
Doc. Ing. Gejza M. Timčák, PhD
Gejza M. Timčák graduated from the Technical University in Kosice in 1964,
he got his PhD from Imperial College, London in 1975, served in various capacities at the BERG Faculty of TU Kosice.
He served as an associate Professor at 2 universities and at one he worked as a full professor.
He was also awarded various decorations and awards (the latest being the Awarded of the city of Kosice 2021 for his work in yoga).
He got his first yoga teacher qualification in 1979.
Later he qualified for the 2nd and 1st degree teachership in Czechoslovakia and subsequently Slovakia.
He is also a teacher and tutor at TTPs both within Slovak Yoga Association and abroad.
He is a co-founder of Association for the Advancement of Yoga Kosice, of the Slovak Yoga Association and other NGOs.
He is the President of the SYA. He was awarded the Honorary membership of the EUY in 2020.
He co-organized a number of yoga conferences at home and abroad, starting with 1978 and authored/published more than 100 books, papers videos, films and TV programs on various aspects of yoga.

- studied under London school of meditation (1968-1972)
- was guided by Swami Bhavyananda, Ramakrishna Mission, London (1968-1990)
- was initiated by swami Vireshwarananda (1980) (Ramakrishna order),
- was taught by Selvaraja Yesudian, Prabhúdatta Brahmachari (1977, 1980),
Deoraha Baba (1977, 1980), swami Satyananda (1977, 1980), swami Maheshwarananda,
Mahaswi Tathata (1996-2006) (Tapovarishtashram), Abbot Ming Ting (1995) (Taipei);
S. Yesudian (1958-1971), swami Veda Bharati (2005-2016), and others,
- was inspired by André v. Lysebeth, Aviyogi S. Goyal, Yogacharya M.V. Bhole and other yoga teachers.
